Healing

Healing can occur in more realms than just the physical, such as in the realm of the emotions, mentality and the spirit. I also believe that the key to physical healing is first being healed in the realm of the emotions, mentality or the spiritual. For only once the emotions are submitted to the Word and the Promises of God, only once the mentality of the one who is in need of physical healing can break out of the negativity, break out of the role of the victim and wrap their mind around the Word and the Promises of God regarding physical healing, and only once the one who is in need of physical healing is spiritually connected to the One who heals and has received their salvation through the One who heals and understands that at the time of their salvation they became a joint heir with the One who heals and thereby their healing was already received on Calvary will one be able to then believe for the One who heals to heal them.

In I Believe in Miracles it mentions that Kathryn Kuhlman strongly disapproved of anyone having the idea that her ministry was devoted only, or even primarily, to the healing of sick bodies. Ms. Kuhlman had many teachings but what everyone remembers is the many healings of sick bodies that took place and it is in this realm that the present day church operates. Now don’t get me wrong, healing of sick bodies is something we should rejoice about and ensure to give God glory for (not man) but I think it is just as important to ensure that the healing of one’s emotions, mentality and spirit take place for it is through these healings that one will gain the understanding regarding physical healing not just for themselves but to share with others. It is great to receive the miraculous power of God in a circumstance but it is greater to walk out of the circumstance with understanding of the miraculous power of God. Understanding of His Word and His Promises regarding one’s circumstance, understanding of what occurred at one’s time of salvation, understanding of what spiritual weapons to use in what season, understanding of the Anointing and how to move the Anointing into any situation by the Word, understanding of what to do when the Holy Spirit, the Power of God is present and understanding of how to reverence the Holy Spirit, the Power of God when present.

The Lord has had me studying the services of Kathryn Kuhlman and the many testimonies that took place in her services. Within the first chapter of the first book I was brought to tears. I realized just how far the present day church has gotten from the reverence of the Holy Spirit and how today the church reverences things more than the presence of the Holy Spirit, positions and titles more than the presence of the Holy Spirit. It seems the church is more interested in performing an entertaining service rather than letting the Performer of the miraculous have liberty to move. It seems the church is more interested in showcasing one’s gifts rather than showcasing the One who is the giver of the gift. It seems as soon as the atmosphere is at the place where He can move the green light goes on for the congregation to move with people jockeying to be seen laying hands or delivering a Word with the majority having no understanding in what they are doing.

What the church has learned very well is how to copy, how to copy the world, how to copy other’s anointing and callings, other’s worship, and other’s ministries. Copying does not bring forth the miraculous power of God. Dying to one’s self does. The present day church must learn what it is to die, to be broken. Watchman Nee wrote it like this, “Only one kind of basic dealing can enable man to be useful before God – brokenness.” Kathryn Kuhlman has been quoted to say, “I die a thousand deaths before every service.” Now I am sure one can still be used without these but it will never to be to the extent that God would like to use them for self, pride, fear, etc will commonly get in the way. I agree with the following statement by Ms. Kuhlman, “…To this very day, there is nothing more repulsive to me than the lack of wisdom…There is one thing I can’t stand, and that is fanaticism – the manifestations of the flesh that bring a reproach on something that is so marvelous, something that is so sacred.”

There is such a drive in me for the church to become again that oasis for those who are thirsting purely after God and the Anointing of the miraculous to touch their situations. It is here that I have been lately in consecration and in prayer/worship. It is as if I’m seeing the big picture for the first time. This has only come after the Lord had me on a 30 day Word consecration and now a 10 day fast in which I have never broke down the way I did on New Year’s Day. Nothing else matters to me anymore except seeing people who need to find God, find Him and find the real God, not the one the church has created. Nothing else matters to me anymore except seeing the church go from fanaticism to true, genuine and pure worship and reverence toward a God that nothing is impossible with and can make the way of escape out of any situation…including physical death.

I understand more and more as I read the many testimonies that occurred during the many services Ms. Kuhlman conducted that anyone who has a responsibility in a service as such must have first died to self so that they are completely out of His way, they must second have the heart of a servant and realize they are solely there to be a vessel to Him, to be that point of faith, that agreement for someone who may or may not know they need it, and thirdly they must have understanding of the different types of healings that can manifest (some do happen over a period of time) as well as the different types of individuals and their mindsets that will be present. Only when you can understand and relate to someone can you truly be effective.

I believe the Lord is identifying and promoting this year individuals who realize this really isn’t about them. It is truly about Him and His work. He is trying people’s hearts and dealing with individuals in ways He hasn’t before and I believe He is connecting individuals, who are seeking after Him to other individuals who get it and disconnecting individuals, who are seeking after Him from those who don’t.

It’s not personal…it’s just Spirit!
